Further than countries

Most travel maps stop at national borders. Tessella goes down to provinces, states, regions and prefectures. You did not visit the United States, you visited California, Oregon and Maine.

Something to aim for

Eight collections worth crossing a country for: world wonders, natural wonders, extreme points, dream islands, great treks, monuments, UNESCO sites and world capitals — 675 places in all. Behind them sits a reference catalogue of 3,972 more — cities, national parks, airports and ports — for when you just want to record somewhere ordinary.

Ten years of travel in a single tap

Your photos remember where you have been. Tessella reads their location, works out the countries and regions, rebuilds your history with the right dates, and groups it into trips. The photos themselves never leave your phone.

It knows when you arrive

Turn on automatic detection and Tessella offers to add a country when you get there, without you opening the app. It is off until you ask for it.

Everything works offline

Countries are identified on the device, from map data bundled inside the app. You can tick off a country in the middle of the desert or on a plane.

On your wrist

Save a place from Apple Watch, even with your iPhone out of range. Entries sync the next time they meet. Home screen widgets and watch face complications come with it.

Written on your device

On supported devices, Tessella writes a trip’s title and summary from the places you saved. It runs on the iPhone, offline, with nothing leaving it.

Yours to take with you

Share your map as an image, in the palette you choose. Export everything as readable JSON, because it belongs to you.

No server of ours

No account to create, no ads, no tracking, and nothing of yours on a Nidello machine — we do not have one. Your data stays on the device and, if you want, in your own private iCloud, which we cannot reach. The app does ask Apple to turn coordinates into an address, and Google to resolve a Maps link you paste: the privacy page names every connection it makes.

English, French, Spanish, Italian and Japanese, with Siri in all five.
