Move a stop, see what it costs you.

A test bench for itineraries. Drop stops on the map, add one, remove one, and the app answers straight away with the consequences: kilometres, hours at the wheel, days, new regions and countries, budget — and a sentence that says the trade-off in plain words.

The map is a support, not the subject

Where Tessella draws borders and honest areas, Extra draws streets, real road distances and real driving times. Two different jobs, deliberately two different apps.

Variants, side by side

Keep several versions of the same trip and compare them on the numbers instead of arguing from memory.

Suggestions that stay on your phone

When the app proposes stops, the thinking happens on the device with Apple’s on-device model. Nothing about your trip is sent to a model on a server.

It knows where you have already been

Extra reads what Tessella recorded, through a file the two apps share on your device, so a “new region” really is new.

It leaves with you

Export the itinerary as .ics or .gpx, or print a booklet as a PDF. Add the trip to your calendar — write-only, so the app cannot read what is already there.

What it sends, and to whom

Planning a route means asking Apple Maps, and a forecast means asking Apple Weather. Both are listed on the privacy page, with exactly what they receive. Nothing reaches us.

Tessella Extra is at version 0.13 and is not translated yet. Even the name is provisional. There is nothing to download — this page will carry the link when there is.
