Ponticello
Islands, bridges, and nothing left to chance.
Join numbered islands with bridges. Each number says how many bridges touch that island; bridges run straight, never cross, and in the end every island belongs to one network. Ponticello is a Hashi game that tells the truth about how hard each grid is, and teaches you the reasoning instead of making you guess.
- 6grid sizes, 7×7 to 17×17
- 5levels, named for the technique they need
- 25,000grids, each proved to have one solution
- The level names the technique
- Eleven techniques, from a complete island to the bridge without which the network would split in two. The solver always tries the simplest first, and a grid’s level is the hardest technique it actually had to use — never the size of the grid.
- Size and level, chosen separately
- 7×7 to 13×13 on iPhone and iPad, and 15×15 and 17×17 on iPad, where there is room to slide from island to island. Any level on any size.
- One daily challenge, the same for everyone
- Worked out from the date on your device, with no server involved. The week climbs, from a gentle 7×7 on Monday to a 13×13 at the top level on Sunday. Share your result as a short text: the date, the size, the level, your time and the hints you used.
- A hint in three steps
- Where to look, then which technique, then show me. If a bridge you placed is wrong, the hint says that first.
- Played by touch, and with VoiceOver
- Slide from an island to its neighbour for a bridge, tap a bridge to make it double or take it away, and tap the water to mark “no bridge here”. Unlimited undo. A double bridge is always drawn as two lines and a finished island turns solid, so nothing depends on colour. With VoiceOver, every island reads its number, its bridges and its neighbours, with an action for each direction.
- Free, and what Pro adds
- The same deal as the other games: the daily challenge and one free game every day, with every size, every level and the hints. Pro removes the daily limit, paid once and shared with your family. No ads, no account, no lives.
- It asks for no permissions at all
- Your games stay on the device and, if you leave iCloud on, in your own private iCloud, which we cannot open. There is no server of ours and no analytics. The privacy page says the rest.
Seven languages, nine variants: English, French, German, Spanish (Spain and Latin America), Italian, Japanese and Portuguese (Brazil and Portugal). iPhone and iPad.
