Person by person, not by group

Julie was at the office dinner in March and she is at Thursday’s drinks. If the green dress went out in March, it counts as seen for Thursday too — even if nobody else there has ever laid eyes on it. Circles (« the office crowd », « Thursdays ») are only a shortcut for adding several people at once; the memory is kept one person at a time.

Tonight, with the reason

Give the place and who will be there, and three outfits come back, each with why: « Annie has never seen you in this skirt; Julie saw it eight months ago. » A plain sentence works instead of the fields — Apple’s on-device model reads it. It reads the sentence; it never picks the outfit.

A history that almost fills itself

Your photo albums already hold the trace of your evenings out. Indosso reads them on the device, proposes the outings it finds, and you keep what is right. Your calendar can prefill the place, the hour and the people. First names are enough; linking a contact is optional, and so is every step of this.

Places, as you actually experience them

Each place is described by your own outings: how dressy it really is, indoors or terrace, warm or air-conditioned, stairs, whether people dance, and how you felt in what you wore. The place itself comes from Apple Maps, not from a database somebody has to maintain.

The evening’s weather, not the morning’s

The forecast for the hour you arrive and the hour you head home — the two that decide a jacket.

Recognising a garment happens on the phone

A specialised Core ML model reads your photo and proposes a category and a colour. No image is ever sent anywhere, and no face is ever recognised — the app has no face recognition at all. The privacy page lists the five permissions and what each one is for.
