Racconto

The road tells its story.

Racconto tells you, out loud and on its own, the history, geography, culture and anecdotes of the places you drive past. You drive; the village ahead, the river you are crossing and the old mill on the hill each get their story, just before you reach them.

Stories that come to you
No screen to touch. Racconto picks a place ahead of you on the road, works out when you will reach it, and starts talking. A flash of a few seconds for a place you pass, a full story for one worth it, and “Tell me more” when you want the rest. With the screen locked, and in CarPlay.
Your topics, your tone
Twenty-seven topics, from history and architecture to nature, food and odd facts. Choose how far to look, how often to talk and how long to go on, and a tone: informative, playful, calm or funny. The tone changes the telling, never the facts.
Sourced, then checked
Every story is written from public texts about the place — Wikipedia, Wikivoyage and open heritage registers in Quebec, Canada, the United States, France and New Zealand — and checked against them before you hear it.
Prepared trips, even offline
Enter a destination, and Racconto prepares the stories along the route in advance, ready to play with no signal. A trip planned in Bivio comes across in one tap.
A road quiz for the whole car
Questions drawn from the stories you just heard, between two stories. Passengers join from their own iPhone, without installing the app, and the game goes on from phone to phone when there is no network.
A convoy with your circle
Several cars on the same trip: each one sees where the others are, only during the convoy and with everyone’s consent, and hears the same stories. Circles come from Cerchia.
Free, and what Pro adds
Free: live mode, unlimited flashes and three full stories a day, with every topic and the radius. Pro opens unlimited stories and chapters, prepared trips and offline listening, the Bivio import, the convoy, the road quiz beyond one round and the full log. By the year, or as a pass for a single trip.
What leaves your iPhone
No account, no ads, no tracking. To pick the next place, our server receives your position rounded to about 500 metres, and keeps no log of it. The stories are written from the name of the place and public texts only: nothing about you goes to the AI. The privacy page lists every connection.

Thirteen languages, for the app and the stories: English, French, German, Spanish (Spain and Latin America), Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese (Brazil and Portugal), Russian, Arabic and Chinese (Simplified). On iPhone.
